The Old House Inn, Shanghai

By Sara Naumann, About.com

Description:
This quaint little inn sits down an alley off one of Shanghai's major roads. You'll get a taste for lane life while you stay in a friendly inn that has been renovated into a hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated with Chinese furniture and you have the added advantage of A Future Perfect, a nice restaurant with a garden just next door.

Pop out of the lane and you are right in the heart of the former French Concession. In under ten minutes you can be at Jing An Temple on Nanjing West Road where there's plenty of shopping, a metro station (Jing An Si) and Jing An Park.

Address:
Lane 351 Hua Shan Lu, House 16, 老时光酒店, 华山路351弄16号, 近常熟路.
Say it in Chinese: "hwah shahn loo san woo ee long shuh leeoh how".
