Ten Glorious Days in Tibet

Drive this morning to Shigatse at 12,792 feet or 3,900m. Shigatse is the second-largest city in Tibet and historically rivaled Lhasa for influence. The Panchen Lama, Tibet's second highest Buddhist incarnation, sits here at the Tashilumpo Monastery. Spend the afternoon walking through the vast complex that was established in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama.
