Guide Comments:
  • There are multiple locations but this one is my favorite (and I truly believe the dumplings are tastier here than at other locations, and trust me, I've tried them all). It's located on the second floor of the big building at the end of the southern block in Xintiandi. It's just across the floor from Din Tai Fung, my other favorite place to eat dumplings.

  • CJ is the perfect place for anybody who is a little cringey about eating Chinese food - we take all our visitors here and not one has ever had a bad experience. Friendly, picture-menus help you decide what to order but I love going for a big bowl of noodle soup, myself. They hand-pull the noodles at the front of the restaurant (take a peek through the window as you walk in).

  • Crystal Jade is pretty kid-friendly too, they have high-chairs and tolerant staff so even my son, who typically spends lunch under the table pretending to be a puppy dog, enjoys it.
