Camel Trekking in the Mingsha Sand Dunes

Every visitor to Dunhuang should add in an extra half-day (preferably in the morning before it gets too hot) to visit the Mingsha Sand Dunes just outside the city of Dunhuang. They are visible as you drive from the train station or airport into the city and signal the fact that you are within reach of the famed Gobi Desert and on the ancient Silk Road routes.
