Happy New Year! 恭喜发财！
If you were anywhere in the Mainland, you probably heard a few firecrackers go off (like thousands between just before midnight for a few minutes to a few hours!) ringing in the Year of the Snake. It's just the beginning of the New Year celebrations that will last traditionally for fifteen days until the Lantern Festival falls on the fifteenth day of the new year (February 25th in 2013).
