Seeing Snakes

By February 8, 2013

Follow me on:

Do you know how tempting it was to add some Ss to that title? But I resisted.

So, as the snake is coming, do you not think it appropriate to seek them out? If you're in Shanghai, you're in luck. There are several places where snakes are on special exhibit. The Science and Technology Museum has a snake exhibit running from now until March. According to review from a grade 2 kids who went (whom I personally interviewed), the exhibit of snake skeletons and other snake-related scientific items is, in a word, "awesome".

The Shanghai Ocean Aquarium also has a sea-related snake exhibit. For more info, see Kids in Shanghai for addresses and directions.

There is a "snake village" in Zhejiang Province that I've recently learned about. It's apparently where snakes are farmed for Chinese medicinal purposes. I believe I'll have to check it out early in the new year.

Get ready. The snake is coming and the dragon is on the way out.
