Heli, the winner of this year's WildChina Explorer Grant will head to Xinjiang to study the Tianshan Snow Lotus. That sounds like an amazing adventure and I look forward to reading more on WildChina's blog posts.
I've been following Josh Summer's writings about Xinjiang for a while now and with the photos and information he posts, I am one (of the many) who feel an urge to head west and explore this incredible region. If I don't manage to this year, there's always 2014.
WildChina's grant is generous but there are many travel companies out there who offer great contests for China travel. I'll try to keep promoting them to you so perhaps a reader will enter and win. In the meantime, enjoy planning your next adventure. And thank you all who supported me in my application to the WildChina grant.

Sara, thank you so much for your kind words. Hopefully you’ll be able to make it out here to Xinjiang soon, and when you do – let me know!
Hi Josh, you’re welcome! Your info is great and I will certainly be in touch when I plan my first Xinjiang adventure.
Best,
Sara
Hi Sara:
Read your contest article in wildchina and other travel articles in your blog. Pity that you didn’t win the grand this year, hopefully you do next year or you will have a chance to make it to Xinjiang before then. Enjoyed your articles.
Thanks!
Thanks for your comment Qayyum. I do hope I make it out to Xinjiang soon. There’s so much to see and do there. I think I’ll need multiple trips.
Best,
Sara
