I wonder if I use that blog title every year.
Last weekend I was at the Shanghai Portman Ritz-Carlton's Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. And if you were at a big hotel in China over the last week, then you, too, probably witnessed a gargantuan tree being lit aglow in the spirit of the holiday. Santa even visited the Portman and gave out treats to all the kids (except mine, one was running amok and the other was cowering behind a potted palm).
Christmas with Chinese Characteristics is here, friends. You can get your fill of Christmas songs from the local 7-Eleven all the way to the swankiest hotel. Whatever your wishes, you can probably fulfill them in China. You might pay a little extra for that imported Italian panettone but you can find it, by jolly!
