The Schoolhouse is opening its newest venue, the Brickyard Inn & Retreat Center near Mutianyu Great Wall. It touts itself an "eco-retreat" as many of the fittings are reclaimed from the old brick kiln. You'll have direct views of the Great Wall from your room and you can hang out at the café post-climb. The best part about staying so close to the Wall is that you can really explore the area around it - something you don't get to do on a day-trip from Beijing.
