Happy Holidays from China!
Here’s just a little missive to say Happy Holidays from Shanghai. Thanks for checking in every so often to see what’s going on. Thank you all who have written and said my writings have been helpful to you on your trip(s) to China. I sincerely hope the economic downturn doesn’t cancel any trips for anyone in 2009 – remember, China can be a pretty darn cheap place in which to travel.
But let’s put negative thoughts aside. For me and my family in Shanghai, it’s been a wonderful year. Entering my sixth year in China, I have now been in one place longer than anywhere else since before I graduated from high school. (That makes me feel very slightly old.)
We’ve spent a very merry Christmas here in Shanghai with my family visiting from the US and we’re about to embark on a week’s ski holiday in Europe. We’ll miss the firecrackers that will ring in the New Year we’re used to, but we’ll be back in time to prepare for the Year of the Ox.
I hope 2008 has been good to you. If it has, let 2009 be even better. If it hasn’t, well, then, isn’t it time for a change? Get yourself over to China for a visit. Travel is cathartic. Keep that in mind when you’re making your resolutions.
Happy Holidays!
